A webinar on the psychological side of infertility(FREE WEBINAR - Registration necessary at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/infertility-not-conceiving-in-a-world-of-families-free-tickets-110140005722)
A webinar on the psychological side of infertility Infertility is a heavy burden that hits one out of ten people and comes with a load of frustration, pain, grief, shame, isolation. Being able to conceive is still, nowadays, considered a requirement to be “woman” and “man”; as a consequence, infertile individuals and couples come to doubt their whole identity when confronted with this diagnosis. However, being infertile today doesn’t imply the impossibility of having a child anymore. Assisted Reproductive Techniques have been improved, and there is renewed support (educative and psychological) for the infertile patient, including a strong focus on helping these patients lower their stress, improve their sense of control and find new meaning. In our webinar we will focus on the ways men and women (differently or samely) cope when they are faced with infertility, what are the phases the couple goes through when faced with the inability to conceive and how we can help them to find more helpful and healthy ways to cope with the stress and the grif of such a life event. Speaker: Benedetta La Rosa Benedetta is a psychologist, graduated in Clinical Neuropsychology from Leiden University and passionate about therapy in all its forms.
