What are "challenging issues" in therapy?

Picture
It is often the case that the therapist is faced with situations that require extra attention and care during the therapy sessions.

These are situations as the following: clients who are angry, avoidant, hopeless, too talkative, pleasing, ashamed, disconnected from the therapist.

What do we do in those cases and how do we resolve them and at the same time making sure that we reinforce the therapeutic relationship?
